Sun and psoriasis

Sunny Thailand - Jamie, Ashland, USA

Psoriasis is a troublesome thing and I have had it for numerous years now and fear that it may never completely go away. It however pretty much completely went away while I was in Thailand = no stress lots of sun and sea. It was glorious! I have tried basically everything to control and have faith that with light therapy and Dovobet ointment I'm going to get rid of it. I use the T-Gel shampoo and don't see much change. I am wearing a t shirt today in public because I'm sick of always having to wear long sleeves! How silly I am :) Life is fun! (January 2008) Contact Jamie

The sun has helped my psoriasis - Stephen, Cardigan, Wales, UK

I woke up one day feeling really itchy, but as it was summer I expected it was merely the heat. A few weeks later, I noticed I was scaly on my scalp, and had really bad dry skin on my forehead. About two months later I noticed that I started to have red patches on my stomach and back. I went to the Doctors and they told me it was Psoriasis, and prescribed me some weird unhelpful shampoo, that stunk.

I have realised that sunlight helps me a lot more than anything else, but I've recently ordered some Exorex, and hopefully that will give me the confidence to go out, in less than a long sleeved T-shirt and a pair of thick jeans. (August 2007) Contact Stephen
